Nostalgic is a special Color available for Pets. It was released the day after Lumineve in December 2011. New Nostalgic pets are most frequently released around Luminaire.

Appearance

All Nostalgic pets are different types of toys; unlike other special colors, they have no shared color palette or emotion. Many Nostalgic pets are generic old-fashioned toys, while others are references to real world toys; most newer Nostalgic pets tend to have the latter kind of design.

Each Nostalgic pet also has a corresponding Nostalgic toy item that matches its appearance. Some of these items show the toy disassembled or with other parts not featured in the pet image, such as the Nostalgic Urubu Toy or the Nostalgic Velosotor Toy.

How to Obtain

Vanya's Workshop

“	Oh, you are having one of my toys and the Essence of Melody! You are wanting to combine them, ya? Please to be giving me the toy you want to transforming.	”

Nostalgic pets are obtained by visiting Vanya's Workshop in the Arctic Frost and giving Vanya an Essence Of Melody and the Nostalgic toy of the species you wish to turn your pet into. Doing so will change your active pet into a Nostalgic pet of the same species of the toy Vanya was given. After clicking on the toy item from the bottom of the main page of Vanya's workshop, he will ask for confirmation that you want to change your active pet. Nostalgic is the only color that does not allow you to select which pet will change.

Nostalgic toys are also created at Vanya's Workshop. Visit Vanya with any of the Nostalgic instructions in your Inventory and you will have the option to start a Quest with him to create the same species' Nostalgic Toy. All Nostalgic instructions Restock at Thimble & Co. Nostalgic instructions for a given pet will also be available from the Token Shop when that Nostalgic pet is first released, but the same instructions will not restock in the Token Shop at a later date. If you choose to quit the quest after starting one, you will lose the nostalgic instructions you were using in the quest. There is no time limit to the quest.

Nostalgic Anyu Toy

“	Ah, I am thanking you for bringing to me these items! Give me moment.. ok...here you go! I am having made good your toy! I am thinking you are liking this.	”

In order to complete Vanya's quest to create a Nostalgic toy, you will require three items. The first will be one of the "kit" items available from Thimble & Co. Which kit is used will be specific to each individual set of instructions; you may be able to guess the appropriate kit based on the appearance of the resulting Nostalgic pet. The other two requested items will be random items that also restock at Thimble & Co. Once you have completed the quest by giving Vanya the three items he requested, Vanya will give you the corresponding Nostalgic toy item.

Essence of Melody

Essence of Melody

The Essence of Melody is available as an Achievement prize for visiting Melody's Cottage for the first 25 days of Luminaire; there is a new version of this achievement added for each year's Luminaire. Depending on the stability of the site in any given year, the requirements for the achievement may differ slightly; some years have required less days or not required the days to be consecutive.

The Essence of Melody is also available from the "All Year" section of the Millionaire Center for 10 million sP, however it is not typically worth it to purchase from the Millionaire Center.

Did You Know?

• The first Nostalgic pets were the Antlephore, Chai, Mallarchy, Manchu, Priggle, Rreign, Ruffie, and Wyllop. The Nostalgic Kumos was added four days later.
• There is a Nostalgic Avatar Skin available from the Zapper during Morostide, first introduced in 2012.
• The Nostalgic Keeto is the only Animated pet on the site
• The Nostalgic Anyu is also a music box, though it is no longer able to play music.
• The Nostalgic Cadogre and Telenine are both parts of toy sets that can be put together to become a bigger toy.
• The Nostalgic Lasirus is capable of flying by itself.
• The Nostalgic Ruffie can bark and do back-flips when powered on.
• Some Nostalgic pets require assembly, as seen in their corresponding toy item; these include the Bhakoru, Charlie, Mahar, Velosotor, and Zasaba.
• There are a few Nostalgic pets that are not strictly toys: the Fester, a Lawn Flamingo; Priggle, a pincushion; Urubu, a piggy bank; Zasaba, an origami sculpture; and Zentu, a watering can.
  • The Nostalgic Wyllop is a toy, but appears more like a cat's toy than a children's toy
